Student Liaison

 This Committee functions as the PPA networking arm to area schools that offer paralegal programs. The committee shall consist of PPA voting, associate or sustaining members who would like to offer their professional experience as a resource to paralegal students in the quad-county area (Allegheny, Westmoreland, Washington, Beaver/Butler).

 Activities of the Committee include:

 - Visting local schools and speaking to students;

 - Managing the PPA scholarship award

 - Producing student networking events

 - Hosting students at annual paralegal day celebration

Additionally, member and non-member students may be referred to Committee members  when contacting the PPA for mentoring or informational interviews. These liaisons then become one-on-one mentoring relationships that may be developed according to the needs of the student and the time/resource commitment of the paralegal.

The committee is also entrusted by the PPA to manage the awarding of the local scholarships that are funded entirely by PPA member dollars. The scholarship committee is a subcommittee of the Student Liaison committee, and shall be comprised solely of PPA voting members. The PPA Board prescribes that only voting members be charged with evaluating disbursement of PPA funds.
