Student Liaison/Mentoring
Calling all students! Why re-invent the wheel? Aren't you already busy enough with your present employer and your Paralegal studies without needing to spend lots of additional free time investigating what it's going to be like to be a Paralegal or which Paralegal field is best suited to your personality and goals? Want to find out what a career in the multifaceted Paralegal profession is like in the "war" room versus the classroom? Well, you're in luck because there are a number of seasoned PPA member paralegals who are ready and willing to discuss their respective fields of law with you. It is truly a learning experience for both mentor and mentored, not to mention a super way to increase your peer-to-peer Paralegal network. Remember - the best jobs usually aren't found in the newspaper or on-line - word-of-mouth candidates will be first in line every time. Please consider contacting Moira Roche, the PPA's Chairperson for the Mentoring Committee, if you'd like to take advantage of this really great "real world" opportunity. Graduation is right around the corner.
Students! Are the high costs of furthering your education getting you down? PPA awards an annual scholarship of $1,000 to a deserving paralegal student to help with these expenses! How do you qualify? You fill out an application and write a brief essay. That's all there is to it! Watch this space for more details.
